frequently asked questions and answers
How is Juicing Tree juice different from the juice available at grocery stores?
Any distributed juices are required by the FDA to be pasteurized for maximum shelf life. Pasteurization involves heating the juice and then cooling it during the manufacturing process to kill microbial bacteria. Another pasteurization process has evolved using pressure instead of heat. This is called HPP, or High Pressure Pasteurization or Pascalization (same result, different road). Unfortunately, pasteurization also kills vitamins, minerals and living enzymes that are essential in the digestion process and our overall vibrancy. Juicing Tree juices are pure; we don't further process or pasteurize and we never add anything- no water, no sugar, no preservatives, no colors, no flavors.
How can I tell if my "raw" cold pressed juice has been pasteurized?
Long story short, if it's on a resellers shelf (ie grocery store, even the fancy grocery store) then it has been pasteurized. Any truly raw juice cannot be resold, distributed or sold wholesale in any way and is required to contain the following warning on the bottle:
WARNING: This product has not been pasteurized and therefore may contain harmful bacteria
that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune
systems.
So, if that warning is not on the label then you can bet the farm that it has been pasteurized (yes, even though they say "raw" on the bottle- the FDA and health department don't monitor marketing).
Isn't the juice I make at home the same as Juicing Tree juice?
Juice made at home on a traditional centrifugal or rotary juicer is already exposed to heat and oxidation before it enters your glass, beginning to breakdown the vital elements that you want to extract. Because of this, juice made on these machines has to be consumed immediately. The Juicing Tree uses Norwalk juicers. These machines are able to extract much higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals. 4000lbs of pressure extract all the nourishing elements from the ingredients, rupturing the cell walls and liberating an abundance of nutrients, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and chlorophyll. The cold pressed method of extraction produces a much more nutritious juice that is able to stay fresh and vital for a few days with proper storage- and it tastes better too!
What about the juice from other juice bars?
Most juice bars use a centrifugal juicer, which speeds oxidation due to heat and oxygen generated in the extraction process. This kills vital nutrients, enzymes, etc. Juicing Tree juices are always cold pressed daily with the highest quality standards to preserve all the wonderful things that make our juices the best- literally, come taste the difference of juice with integrity.
Can this nutritional advantage be quantified?
Yes. When compared to a leading centrifugal juicer, the machines we use are simply able to extract more. Take carrots for example:
- the centrifugal extracts 40.5ozs of juice while the Norwalk extracts 57.0ozs
- 501mgs of calcium on the centrifugal versus an impressive 2708mgs on the Norwalk
- only traces of magnesium with the centrifugal and 22.8mgs with the Norwalk
- 8.1mgs of potassium on the centrifugal and 31.9mgs on the Norwalk.
Juicing Tree juice is always cold pressed on a Norwalk juicer for the best juice possible.

What's this I hear about chewing my juice?
Odd but true, "chewing" your juice as you drink it triggers the secretion of saliva and enzymes which aid in the assimilation of nutrients into your body.
Can I try before I buy?
Certainly! How many times have you bought something, only to open it and be disappointed with the taste or consistency? We nip that in the rear at Juicing Tree. Come swing by our storefront and sample our blends. Most flavors are available for sample daily. We find that this makes our customers much happier with their purchase, especially when "on the fence" between flavors.
Do I have to refrigerate my juice?
Yes. Juicing Tree's cold pressed juice is completely unpasteurized, making it highly perishable if not stored properly. Juicing Tree juice should be stored at 40º F or below for your safety.
What time are deliveries made?
Your delicious juice will arrive to you between 9am and noon.
I'm busy, do I have to be home to get my juice?
We all have things that come up. Just leave a note for our driver and have the package delivered to a neighbor who can refrigerate your juice until you return to enjoy it.
Nobody's home, can you deliver to my work?
Absolutely! We can deliver your Juicing Tree juice to your place of business, just make sure that the bottles make it to the fridge. This way you don't have to wait to get home to enjoy your nutritious juice!
How long will my Juicing Tree juice last?
With proper refrigeration, your Juicing Tree juice has a shelf life of 3-4 days (72-96 hours) after pressing. The fruit juice blends, especially those with citrus and ginger, generally tend to have a slightly longer shelf life than the "green" juices (such as Purple Wizard and Green Wizard). Additionally, freezing your Juicing Tree juice extends your window for enjoyment. If you choose to freeze your juice, please let it defrost COMPLETELY before consuming to avoid a "watered down" taste- as water thaws quicker than vitamins.
My Juicing Tree juice looks separated, is it bad?
No. Separation occurs naturally, as we do not add binders or any other ingredients. Just give your juice a gentle shake and enjoy.
Why on earth would you fill the bottle to the rim?
Please open your Juicing Tree juice carefully. We fill our bottles to the very top so there is minimal oxygen (enemy of fresh juice) integrating with your juice. Though not scientifically proven, we believe that this extends the shelf life, and if nothing else, you a little extra juice beyond the 16floz! Now if only we can influence the potato chip industry....
Organic fresh young Thai coconut? Sounds like a gimmick.
First a little tidbit. Traditional Thai coconuts take about a month to travel into the US, then go to distribution, then the market and finally into your hands (roughly two months after harvest)- yea, that's fresh. Coconuts would normally begin to mold before they even reached our shores, so they are sprayed with chemicals to postpone the decomposition process- even the "organic" ones. Our organic coconuts are as fresh as we can possibly get them. Coconuts are harvested, opened, packaged and immediately frozen- preserving vital nutrients before they leave Thailand, without the chemical. This method assures the freshest and most flavorful coconut experience, second only to personally cracking a young coconut open and enjoying it in Thailand.
Is Juicing Tree juice all organic?
Yes. We strive to juice only the freshest, 100% organic ingredients. On some occasions we will substitute with ingredients from small farms that do not use commercial fertilizers or pesticides, but do not have organic certification. Our ingredients are always hand scrutinized to separate any damaged or bruised produce.
My juice tastes a little different than last time, what's going on?
Our juice is never pasteurized (not even HPP) nor is anything ever added to it. That being said, there are always small variances in flavor between batches of fresh organic produce that is then extended to our juices. Each juice you consume is authentically fresh, not mass produced and then flavored to taste identical to the last batch.
Is Juicing Tree good for the environment?
At The Juicing Tree, we take our role as stewards of the environment seriously; imagine soil that cannot be farmed, water that cannot be drank and air that cannot be breathed. We are doing everything in our power to be as "green" as possible; some of our implementations are:
- Our ingredients come from local farmers whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint
- All of our pulp is composted
- All of our recyclables are recycled
- Finished products have lower carbon footprints than foods containing animal products
- Our website is powered by and offset 200% by wind energy
- Our facility utilizes zero VOC paint
What kind of bottles does the Juicing Tree use?
Our juice bottles are made from HDPE. This is the most commonly and frequently recycled plastic. HDPE is recycled (or downcycled) into many products in high demand such as tables, chairs, benches, flower pots, recycling bins, truck cargo liners, lunch trays, rulers, pens, plastic pipe and even bridges.
Where is my Juicing Tree juice made?
We are currently pressing our nutritious blends in our very own kitchen- licensed, certified, inspected micro juicery (or commissary as they like to call it). We take tremendous care in the production process- cleanliness and quality are priority number one in keeping your body happy and safe. We scrub, wash and sanitize anything and everything that comes into contact with our ingredients or your juice. Absolutely no bruised or damaged produce makes the cut and batches of juice are immediately bottled refrigerated after pressing to maximize safety and shelf life.
What should I drink if I'm hungover?
We recommend cold pressed juice, of course! While all those toxins that facilitated such a good time were more than welcome last night, its time to get them out. Our customers tell us they literally feel the nourishment revitalizing their bodies.
Can't I just eat the fruit and veggies?
Certainly, though the cold pressed process maximizes their potential and makes all the nutritious vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, natural antibiotics and enzymes readily available for your body to thrive from. Our digestive system takes much longer to completely digest and process whole fruits and vegetables; juice is able to deliver nutrients much quicker and more efficiently, letting your digestive system take a load off.
Is Juicing Tree a vegan option?
All of our juices are vegan, and have a lower carbon footprint than options containing animal products.
I'm not vegetarian, is this juice for me?
Absolutely! Juicing Tree juice is for everyone. All human bodies benefit from our pressed juices. Whether you enjoy Juicing Tree occasionally or multiple times a day, every day- you will feel the nourishing effects and vitalizing results in each drop. Go ahead, juice your life!
Can I smoke or drink while cleansing?
We do not recommend you smoke or drink while on a cleanse. The purpose is to cleanse your body of toxins and free your cells to perform at their peak with nutritious fuel.
Is juicing recommended while I'm pregnant or breast feeding?
Mom's need additional calories and nutrition in their diets and should not restrict themselves to liquids. Always consult your healthcare professional to see if our blends are appropriate for you.
Is juicing recommended if I have a health condition such as diabetes that requires prescription medication?
Always consult your healthcare professional before beginning a cleanse if you are on any prescription medications. Keep in mind that while a full cleanse may not be appropriate to partake in while on certain medications, you will find that many of our juice blends can make a nutritious, delicious and physician approved addition to your diet!
I'm juicing, and I'm hungry... should I eat solid foods?
Of course, we're not trying to starve you. If you are doing a juice cleanse and find yourself craving solid food, just reach for a healthy raw choice, a small salad or fruit with peanut butter for instance.
Can drinking juice help cure my body of certain ailments?
There are countless studies that support the healing properties of juice. One of the more well known methods is the Gerson therapy.
Does the Juicing Tree offer custom cold pressed juices or catering?
We are always open to customer input on blends and other juice related suggestions; we love to hear from you! Custom, off-menu juices are available (quantity requirements apply)- please contact us with your inquiry.
I don't see my question here.

how fresh is your cold pressed juice?
Dear fresh juice consumer,
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify any confusion created by the "raw" cold pressed juices popping up on the shelves of major supermarkets and coffee giants. These juices have been subject to a process called high pressure pascalization, or HPP. HPP is a solution to the logistical challenges that come with raw, cold pressed juice manufacturing, by extending the 3-4 day shelf life into a 24-30 day shelf life. These companies (some located in Colorado) send their fresh pressed juices out to a factory that submerges the bottles under water and bombards them with up to 90,000 lbs of pressure (HPP) and then ships the juices back to the juice manufacturer who then releases them into the wholesale distribution chain with an expiration date of twenty-some-odd days out.
I don't know about you, but that is neither fresh nor raw in my opinion. If I'm paying for a raw juice, I want a raw juice. Truly raw, unpasteurized juice is, by law, not allowed to be sold wholesale or resold by another company for further sale PERIOD. That is why you will NEVER find Juicing Tree juice on any grocery store shelf, because we are truly 100% raw. The most concerning fact to me is that these manufacturers utilizing the HPP process are still allowed to label the juice as raw and unpasteurized!!! This just boggles my mind. As consumers, we deserve complete transparency and the utmost honesty in the manufacturing process and what's in the bottle.
When you purchase and drink these distributed "raw" juices, you may be drinking a juice that is over 25 days old! There are numerous juice companies that utilize HPP and offer their juices in the major resellers and supermarket shelves as raw. FACT IS FACT and the fact of the matter is that these juices have been further processed with HPP to extend shelve life and achieve distribution. In my opinion, these juices have been compromised.
As our promise and pledge to you, our beloved Juicing Tree customers, we will always bring you the most uncompromisingly pure, unprocessed, completely 100% RAW juice. NEVER HPP'd. At the Juicing Tree, our primary focus is making juice with integrity.
Best regards,
